She brings more than 25 years of experience in music, theatre, dance, performing arts, and children’s education to her writing, along with a deep commitment to encouraging young hearts through faith, creativity, and meaningful learning experiences.

Beth Stukey Announces Launch of God Made You Special

New children’s book helps young readers discover their uniqueness, God-given identity and purpose

Children’s book author Beth Stukey will launch God Made You Special, a new picture book designed for children ages two to five that encourages young readers to recognize themselves as uniquely and wonderfully created by God. Published by The Publishing Heaven.

Written around the foundational message that every child is one of a kind, God Made You Special introduces young children to the idea that God intentionally created the world around them and carefully made each person. The book moves from the beauty of creation to the individual features and qualities that make each child special, reinforcing the message that their identity and worth are not accidental. The book opens by celebrating God’s creation of the sun, clouds, creatures and birds, before turning its attention to the unique characteristics of each child.

The book combines its faith-centered message with activities intended to encourage children to participate in the reading experience. Among the activities are “What Makes You Special?”, which invites children to identify qualities such as kindness, strength, being loved and letting God’s light shine; a counting activity featuring animals; a maze activity; and a search-and-find activity. The book also concludes with a bedtime prayer thanking God for making the child special and asking for help to be kind, brave and loving.

Stukey brings more than 25 years of experience in music, theatre, dance and performing arts education to her work as an author. During her career, she also worked as a children’s church curriculum writer for kindergarten through third grade. Now a grandparent, she says her desire to help children grow in their faith has deepened and inspired her journey into children’s book writing.

The book is intended to give parents, grandparents and young children an opportunity to explore faith, identity and God’s creation together. Its combination of simple language, colorful illustrations, biblical themes and interactive activities is designed for early childhood reading and participation.

An advance reader, Shelly Fields, described the book as one that captures what young children need to hear and believe about themselves and said it is a book parents and grandparents will want to read again and again.

God Made You Special is published by The Publishing Heaven and is the first children’s book in Stukey’s developing writing journey.
